Gmail Password Change Issue

According to your plugin support (https://wpforms.com/how-to-securely-send-wordpress-emails-using-gmail-smtp/), I should be allowed to change my G Suite Gmail password and the plugin should continue to work. However, it is not. I did a test here with my email account in a test project. It was sending emails and then just stopped working when I changed my password. I ended up having to delete the current SMTP connection and create a new one. It appears that Google revokes the permission to this credential when the email password is changed and thus the credentials have to be renewed. Thus, I have to edit the credentials, reset the “secret”, and then go back into WP Admin to update the secret on the WP Mail SMTP plugin. Essentially, whenever I change my Gmail password, I’ll have to update the WP Mail SMTP plugin credentials as well as the Google App credentials to ensure emails are being sent out, etc. from my website. Is this working as designed or is this a bug?
