test email works but activation email not received

hello! i’ve set things up according to the instructions for Other SMTP. The test email works fine but when I tried to add a new user, the new user doesn’t receive any activation email in his email. The activation email isn’t in his spam either. What should the settings be to ensure the mail gets properly sent? Thank you!
