Lost password email not sent

I configured your plugin on our my dev site to try it because our users were getting the lost password email to spam.

I’m using Amazon SES so I configured your plugin with the Other SMPT option, and the test email is sent correctly.

However, when I try to reset a user password using the lost your password? link in the login I get this error:

ERROR: The e-mail could not be sent.
Possible reason: your host may have disabled the mail() function.

How could this be true if I get the test email correctly? What could be the problem?
