Gmail password change and reset “secret “

Hi,

I am using the WP Mail SMTP app with my site and have it setup to send emails using gmail. I am required to change my gmail password for security reasons and know that gmail revokes the OAuth token on password resets.

I want to know if simply regenerating the OAuth secret and entering it in the WP Mail SMTP admin console re authenticate the App or do I need to delete and recreate the SMTP connection from scratch?

Any guidance is much appreciated.
