I am curious as to why I very often get the following error message:
cURL error 60: SSL: no alternative certificate subject name matches target host name ‘www.googleapis.com’
I have seen it pop up across multiple sites over the past 6 months. It’s frustrating, because we don’t know about it unless we are actively logging in and looking for it. Doing an email test send sometimes clears it up, but we have had to reset the API connection with Google a couple of times to fix it.
We have quality hosting with excellent support on a VPS and we spent over an hour with them scouring all of the settings on our end, and everything was in order server side. So then I spent over an hour on the phone with Google GSuite support, who weren’t able to help me. They say it’s a server (it’s not) or plugin issues. Could you offer any insight as the why this seems to crop up on sites every month or so?
