Transferred from another post Can We Disable Action Scheduler? (Impact) for clear
At the moment I only use the Lite version. I also know the risk of removing Action Scheduler for other plugins, but I noticed that when analyzing queries in Query monitor, your plugin performs queries scheduled by functions load_action_scheduler which starts the Action Scheduler for ActionScheduler_WPCommentCleaner, after introducing Action Scheduler in v2.1 of your plugin. That’s why I asked if I can turn off this scheduled task if I don’t have WooCommerce and comments on the website?
Hi @andrewpro,
hmm… I’ve never seen that action “ActionScheduler_WPCommentCleaner” being run on my testing WP sites.
It looks like this is a cleanup task for ActionScheduler itself. But from my understanding, this should only run after ActionScheduler migrations which might occur on new installs of its version updates (so, this task should run rarely).
Here is the code of this AS task.
Based on the admin notice code in this task, it looks like this is an old migration cleanup task:
Action Scheduler has migrated data to custom tables; however, orphaned log entries exist in the WordPress Comments table…
Maybe you have/had some other plugin that used an older version of AS?
Do you maybe see this admin notice quoted above in your WP dashboard?
@capuderg Thank you for your answer. I have never installed on the WooCommerce website, also comments are disabled from the very beginning, and the template does not have them. The task is launched with your plugin every time you view a post, I haven’t updated it recently.
