I previously installed the plugin, and it worked like a charm.
I subsequently accidentally deleted a related database element and received a core WordPress notice of a critical failure, although the site continued to work fine.
To prevent future problems, though, I thought it best to deactivate, delete, and reinstall the plugin anew.
Now, when I try to activate the newly installed plugin, my site crashes with a critical error message, and the only way to remedy the situation is to rename or delete the plugin file via SFTP.
What extra elements beyond simply deleting the plugin file itself – database options or tables or other file entries or modifications – do I need to scrub so that I can reinstall the plugin cleanly without breaking my site?
