pestocat on "[Plugin: WP Mail SMTP] SMTP Error: Could not connect to SMTP host."

I have the same problem. How does WP mail SMTP suppose to work.
I see in the error code string(82) "SMTP connect() failed. https://github.com/PHPMailer/PHPMailer/wiki/Troubleshooting" What is this github.com Do have to go through another server and not our web or mail host. Is this where the problem is.
