Users not receiving password change emails

we are running WP mail SMTP on our woocommerce platform and most of the emails get delivered but lately people are complaining they can not change their password, because it never delivers the password change request link.

Greetings,

I am trying to setup your plugin and it doesn’t work on my primary site- no matter what settings I put in (trying to use Microsoft). It says the settings save but they don’t. I also went so far as to setup a new installation and only have your plugin installed and the same thing is happening. If you’d like to check it out in my staging environment let me know.

PHP 7.3, WordPress 5.4.1 (and 5.3.3 – tested). Is there a particular php extension that needs to be turned on?

WP-Config Workaround Causes Issues

I set up the SMTP Other option to work with my web host, but when I added the password to wp-config.php as instructed, the emails to end users and (admin) myself via the Easy Digital Downloads checkout process were never received.

I installed a mail logger plugin and it showed the emails were being sent, but there was an SMTP Authentication error for every one. When I removed the string from wp-config.php and set the password within the plugin, it fixes the issue.

The strange thing is I would get the WP Mail SMTP test email every time, but that’s it. Everything else failed.

Any idea what the issue could have been? I worked with my web host on the issue, so they weren’t aware of any problems on their end.

We migrated our site to a new server, and everything including email deliveries are working correctly.

However, we’re encountering this strange issue, where the WP SMTP Settings page is the only page in the admin that gives us this error:

Just the settings fail to grant access to any admin

We tried deactivating, and activating the plugin again, updating it to latest version, and no dice.

Any suggestions of how to solve?

Hi,

I made a wordpress website with DIVI theme and just installed WP Mail SMTP, set the from email and left everything as default. so it’s using the default php mailer, I didn’t change anything else, emails are delivered and everything is working fine.
However I was asked by my friend which port its using, as his company needs to know that info for troubleshooting, and I have no clue where I can check that information. Am I even using a port…? didn’t set anything up.

Hi there, I keep getting this error on my site but the site is connected and has been working great for weeks. The test emails come through as well, what could be the issue?

Hi,
We are using the Version 0.10.1 and would like to know how to find/access the logs for this plugin. The plugin errored out few times and there are some information lost because of this (contact us submissions) and I’m trying to recover if there’s anything captured in the log file.

Im use Other SMTP on my website. This error showed up today:

EMAIL DELIVERY ERROR: the plugin WP Mail SMTP v2.0.1 logged this error during the last time it tried to send an email:

Mailer: Other SMTP
PHPMailer was able to connect to SMTP server but failed while trying to send an email.

Consider running an email test after fixing it.

Test email is working correctly. My CTO said that SMTP works fine but I don’t know where I can look for a bug to fix it.
Plugin is updated, WordPress too.

unstable email sending – on and off

hello!

For few months now, I have problems with receiving/sending notification (order status update) emails from my shop with WP MAIL SMTP plugin on wordpress.

Sometimes I get them, sometimes I don’t. Same with my customers.
I would understand with the customers with different addresses, but why I do not receive emails to the same email address?

Please let me know how we can fix it, maybe there is a bug.
Please not, that for the first few months of using he plugin, everything worked fine.
Test email also reaches me no problem.
plugin is updated, wordpress as well.

ProtonMail Settings

I have my WordPress website hosted on HostGator. Per HostGator, they have strict security and prohibit the use of the WP Mailer on it’s own and suggested I use this plugin to get my WPForms contact form to send. So, I downloaded the plugin, installed it, and activated it. I then went to enter the settings for my mail service. I use the paid ProtonMail service. I entered the following information into WP Mail SMTP:

From Email: My @domain email address, which is my domain for my paid ProtonMail account.
From Name: My Name
Return Path Not checked.
Mailer: Other is checked.

Under Other SMTP I have the following settings:

SMTP Host: SECURE.EMAILSRVR.COM
Encryption: SSL (I have also tried TLS instead of SSL)
SMTP Port: 465
Auto TLS: Yes
Authentication: On
SMTP Usernamt: My protonmail email address (@protonmail.com address)
SMTP Password: I have that set in the wp-config.php file

When I go to send a test email under the Test Email tab of WP Mail SMTP plugin, I get an error. Suggestions are very generic. Just tells me to check my SMTP settings, contact mail provider, or host. That literally tells me nothing about the error. That’s basically telling me to check literally everything possible. Unfortunately, the Email Logs is Pro only. Would be nice to offer at least basic logs under the Lite version of the plugin. After all, why would I pay for a plugin I can’t even get working? A working plugin convinces me to purchase the Pro version.

Hello,
I can’t believe I still have the same problem after weeks! BUT, here goes….

I have a simple contact form to send out pdf files, so I downloaded the plugin WP Mail SMTP and followed the WP instructions. It would not send a successful test mail.
After several attempts to help me, my hosting (Bluehost) finally sent me this message:

“I have checked this issue with my admins and we found that the SMTP plugin is causing the issue. Hence I would request you to contact them and check the configuration and they will help you to re-configure it and the issue will be fixed.”

Where do I go from here? Any help appreciated.

Not sending emails with wp_mail()

I installed WP Mail SMTP plugin and integrated it with Gmail.

But when I tried to use wp_mail(); inside my functions.php file to send emails, the emails are not going.

Could you help me understand what is the actual error?


Error when sending out test email – Google_Auth_Exception thrown Could not json

I am using the WP Mail SMTP plugin to send out emails. I set up every correctly using the instructions document found on your website.

When I sent out test emails using the “Email Test” tab of the plugin, it showed me this page:
” Google_Auth_Exception thrown
Could not json decode the token”

I have been doing research online on how to resolve this issue, but none of them worked.

Can you please help me with this?

Default PHP Mailer not working when switching from another mailer

Hi, we use the free version of Sendinblue but when I get to the daily max I switch back to the default PHP Mailer and then no emails are sent to us or the customers. When I send a test email we don’t receive these either. It seems very unstable when switching between the different Mailers, is there anything we can do? Thanks

Registration/Forgot Password emails not being received, but test email works

Hi, my apologizes for asking this commonly asked question, but I can’t seem to find a solution here.

The user activation/forgot password email is not being received. (I made sure to check spam folders and tested across various email accounts.) My SMTP configurations seem to be correct as test email works fine. The email in the ‘From Email’ header matches with the one in the SMTP settings, and the force from email option is checked. Im using the ‘other SMTP’ mailer. I’m also not using constants. I set the password within WP Mail SMTP in the admin panel.

I installed the Log Emails plugin and requested a password reset to ensure the sender email matches the one in the SMTP settings, and everything matches. I also checked to see if it was other plugins conflicting. I disabled all plugins except WP Mail SMTP, and still the same issue. As a result, I’m really clueless as to how to fix this.

Id greatly appreciate some assistance, thank you.

To improve the security for our customers, beginning October 1, 2020, Amazon Signature Version 3 will be turned off (deprecated) in Amazon SES in favor of Signature Version 4.

Unable to send test email

Hi,

I installed and setup WP Mail SMTP on May and able to send and received test email. But now when I tried error shown: “There was a problem while sending the test email”.

An issue was detected.

This means your test email was unable to be sent.

Typically this error is returned for one of the following reasons:

– Plugin settings are incorrect (wrong SMTP settings, invalid Mailer configuration, etc).
– Your web server is blocking the connection.
– Your host is rejecting the connection.

Versions:
WordPress: 5.4.1

WP Mail SMTP: 2.0.1

I’m using WP Mail SMTP Lite thus unable to show any email log.

Does anyone faced same problem? Can you help me?
