default and other smtp no longer work

Hi,

We have just noticed in the last month that our sent emails to customers have no longer been sending.

I have checked with our email host and website host and everything appears to be working as intended with all the correct settings.

We have tried with encryption on/off, auto tls on/off but no luck.

Not sure what else to try. Here are our settings –

https://prnt.sc/tma6ql
https://prnt.sc/tmaqc4

error log –

https://prnt.sc/tmaqi2

Apparently in the log it says the port is 25 which shouldn’t be but it defaults to that and unable to change.

We are using version – Version 2.2.1

Thanks,
Dave

Email delivery error

Hi. My client got the error today:
EMAIL DELIVERY ERROR: the plugin WP Mail SMTP v2.1.1 logged this error during the last time it tried to send an email:

Mailer: Other SMTP
You must provide at least one recipient email address.

Please review your WP Mail SMTP settings in plugin area. Consider running an email test after fix it.

After a few tries it worked, but I’m worried about why this happened, there was no change in the plugin settings, could this be related to the mail server?

SMTP Error: data not accepted.

I can send a test mail successfully. But I get prompted with this error in the WordPress admin.

EMAIL DELIVERY ERROR: the plugin WP Mail SMTP v2.2.1 logged this error during the last time it tried to send an email:

Mailer: Övrig SMTP
SMTP Error: data not accepted.

I’ve reviewed the settings and also talked to my webhost. The settings are good. What can be wrong when I’m able to send a test mail successfully?

SMTP user name is equal to From email. I don’t use the force option.

2.2.1 update causes critical error, and 2.0.1 shows can’t autheticate error

in version 2.0.1, I am getting an authentication warning on my dashboard at the top of each page, but when I run an email test it works fine and says success. no log since i don’t have pro. Logging really shouldn’t be a pro feature since it is required for troubleshooting.

but then, if i try to update to 2.2.1, the whole site crashes and i get a critical error issue. I can easily revert back to the last back up, and repeat the issue each time I update the plugin.

Office 365 authentication issues

I have set up Office 365 using other SMTP on the WP Mail SMTP plugin, on one of my websites with no issues using Hostinger. I tried to set it up ona another site with a different Office 365 account (different tenant also) on a SiteGround host. I am getting authentication issues though. I have tested the username (email) and passord to log into Office 365 (web) Outlook and can send email with no issues. i contacted SiteGround support and they pointed me to the same instructions i had already been through. Does anyone have any thoughts about what i could try next?

Any help would be appreciated!!

Turn on email logging programmatically

Hi, I have WP Mail SMTP set up on a multisite network and I’m wondering if there is a way to turn on email logging programmatically using PHP. Could I include a function in a mu plugin or a plugin that is installed on each blog on the network that would enable logging by default? It would be great if there was a hook set up for this. Please let me know, thanks!

Email Delivery Error (Intermittent)

Hello,

Using WP MAIL SMTP Pro with Amazon SES setup. Noticed that some automated WooCommerce order confirmation emails fail to send, and I see this error message from WP MAIL SMTP Pro:

EMAIL DELIVERY ERROR: the plugin WP Mail SMTP v2.2.1 logged this error during the last time it tried to send an email:
Mailer: Amazon SES
{“curl”:true,”code”:6,”message”:”getaddrinfo() thread failed to start\n”}
Please review your WP Mail SMTP settings in plugin admin area. Consider running an email test after fixing it.

Each time I see this, I run a test email and delivery is perfectly fine. I’m unsure as to what might be causing this, or where I can look to debug this. Any help on this urgent matter would be greatly appreciated.

Kind regards,
Michael

WP Mail SMTP Crashing WordPress Site

Hello, after upgrade from Version 2.0.0 to 2.2.1 the plugin was crashing the site with the following error.

Fatal error: Uncaught RuntimeException: Error saving action: Error saving action: Table 'cd.wp_actionscheduler_actions' doesn't exist in C:\laragon\www\cd\wp-content\plugins\wp-mail-smtp\vendor\woocommerce\action-scheduler\classes\migration\ActionScheduler_DBStoreMigrator.php:44 Stack trace: #0 C:\laragon\www\cd\wp-content\plugins\wp-mail-smtp\vendor\woocommerce\action-scheduler\classes\data-stores\ActionScheduler_HybridStore.php(242): ActionScheduler_DBStoreMigrator->save_action(Object(ActionScheduler_Action), NULL) #1 C:\laragon\www\cd\wp-content\plugins\wp-mail-smtp\vendor\woocommerce\action-scheduler\classes\ActionScheduler_ActionFactory.php(177): ActionScheduler_HybridStore->save_action(Object(ActionScheduler_Action)) #2 C:\laragon\www\cd\wp-content\plugins\wp-mail-smtp\vendor\woocommerce\action-scheduler\classes\ActionScheduler_ActionFactory.php(84): ActionScheduler_ActionFactory->store(Object(ActionScheduler_Action)) #3 C:\laragon\www\cd\wp-content\plugins\wp-mail-smtp\vendor\woocommerce\action-scheduler\functions. in C:\laragon\www\cd\wp-content\plugins\wp-mail-smtp\vendor\woocommerce\action-scheduler\classes\migration\ActionScheduler_DBStoreMigrator.php on line 44

When we downgrade to the old version it was working fine.

This is happening the same with WP Forms too.

A quick fix will be appreciated.

define( ‘WPMS_ON’, true ); not work after update

everytime I update the new version, the define( ‘WPMS_ON’, true ); not work and receive error on sending email.

Everytime I have to change define( ‘WPMS_ON’, true ); to false and save, then change back from false to true again to fix.

Error received during Test Email

I have successfully linked my website with Gmail. I received this success message.

You have successfully linked the current site with your Google API project. Now you can start sending emails through Gmail.

But then when I tried to create an Email Test, I received this error,

An issue was detected.

This means your test email was unable to be sent.

Typically this error is returned for one of the following reasons:

- Plugin settings are incorrect (wrong SMTP settings, invalid Mailer configuration, etc).
- Your web server is blocking the connection.
- Your host is rejecting the connection.

WP Mail SMTP error when using Chrome

Hello,

I am troubleshooting an issue with the WP Mail SMTP plugin.
I have a contact form which is sending email fail the WP Mail SMTP plugin.

If I use Firefox to fill out the form it works. But if I use Chrome I get an error.

My website is still using http. Do you think that is the cause and I need to implement https?

“There was a problem while sending the test email.”

My WP smtp mail service stoped working, though i enter the right details and password.

this is the info supplied:

Could not authenticate your SMTP account.

This means we were able to connect to your SMTP host, but were not able to proceed using the email/password in the settings.

Typically this error is returned when the email or password is not correct or is not what the SMTP host is expecting.
Recommended next steps:

Triple check your SMTP settings including host address, email, and password. If you have recently reset your password you will need to update the settings.
Contact your SMTP host to confirm you are using the correct username and password.
Verify with your SMTP host that your account has permissions to send emails using outside connections.

it’s an OUTLOOK.COM account whe when i sent test e-mail i’ve got en email from outlook.com tells me that there was suspicious attempt to to log in, so it has been blocked.
so i opened the outlook.com security panel and picked “THAT WAS ME” on the suspicious attempt, i sayd that now i’ll get “less interferes” on this account. But i still cannot send that test email.

SMTP Error: Could not connect to SMTP host.

How do I change the email address that contact form submissions are sent to?

I would like to change the email address that receives the contact form submissions on my website. I have looked for advice on how to do this, and I thought that just changing the SMTP username and password would solve the problem, but the submissions are still being sent to the original email address even after changing the username and password. Any advice is appreciated, thank you so much!

GMAIL SMTP api recurring error

EMAIL DELIVERY ERROR: WP Mail SMTP plugin logged this error during the last time it tried to send an email:

Mailer: Gmail
{
“error”: “invalid_grant”,
“error_description”: “Token has been expired or revoked.”
}
Consider running an email test after fixing it.

Over the last few months we’ve been getting these errors on our websites randomly and we’ve been able to fix them by simply reconnecting the GMAIL accounts.

However 2 weeks ago all our websites received this error, we didn’t know about it until a couple days ago and some of our customers lost many leads as a result.

We don’t have the pro version of the plugin and we also didn’t have a plugin to record form entries.

Is there a place where these emails would be recorded? Or are they lost forever?
Thanks in advance.

It’s Easy to Send From Alias of Authorized Account

This turned out to be super easy, but I couldn’t find it explained anywhere. If anyone knows where it is already documented, please link.

I had only one available “From Email” in my WP Mail SMTP settings screen. I had a bunch of other aliases set up for this Gsuite user. To add any or all of those users to that “From Email” dropdown list, you need to log into Gmail.com as the main Gsuite user, go to Settings / Accounts and add any alias you want to use as “From” mail on the web site to “Send Mail As”.

It appears in the dropdown list right away. This was so much easier than I thought it would be.

WP Mail SMTP Email Delivery Error

Hello! I’ve been using WP Mail SMTP forms for a while and I realised that I haven’t been getting my enquiries. When I logged on I can see this message:

EMAIL DELIVERY ERROR: the plugin WP Mail SMTP v1.9.0 logged this error during the last time it tried to send an email:

Mailer: Gmail
{
“error”: “invalid_grant”,
“error_description”: “Bad Request”
}
Consider running an email test after fixing it.

Does anybody have advice on what steps I need to take to fix this issue? Thank you!
