This page has excellent directions on how to use Gmail to send email using this plugin.
However, if you change your Gmail account password, the connection will fail and Gmail won’t let you send. You can fix it by deauthorizing and reauthorizing in the plugin settings.
This one got me and a client recently. It’s great if you are able to use a dedicated email account for sending – one you know nobody is ever going to change the password on.

Hi, I have used the plugin and even though i have had my host provider suggest that the settings are correct ( using email option in plesk for domain) I am still getting the cannot connect error when sending a test.
Could not connect to the SMTP host.
I have checked all the recommendations and host provider has also confirmed these are correct but not entirely sure what to do now. I am using other SMTP option as this is the plesk mail option but all settings seem correct as below:
SMTP Host – mail.domainname.co.uk
Auto TLS – On
Authentication – On
SMTP Port – 465
SMTP username – set based on the email account that has been setup in plesk
SMTP password – set as above also.
I have looked in plesk setting and not sure if there is a compatibility issue but if you can shed light on anything that would be great.

Good afternoon!
We are attempting to set up WP Mail SMTP using the Google mailer. It works with the ‘regular email’ but there is no alias showing under the dropdown as referenced under the red ‘Remove Connection’ button.
The alias itself has been tested to confirm it is working properly, it just doesn’t show as an option in the plugin.
Any assistance would be appreciated!

Hi there,
Should I use define( 'WPMS_SMTP_AUTOTLS', true ); // True turns it on, false turns it off for Other SMTP Mailer if I’m already using TLS encryption.
There is no option for Auto TLS in the dashboard after picking the TLS encryption option.
Then, should I use define( 'WPMS_SMTP_AUTOTLS', true ); or should I remove it from the code and make it look like this:

Hello. I upgraded the plugin to Pro yesterday.
I wanted to view all the emails that WordPress has sent over the previous day. However after upgrading, the logs only show any emails since upgrading. Is there a way to view previous emails that was sent when IO had the Lite version please? thanks.

Since two days I cannot upload pictures to the media library anymore. It gives me the post processing error: Post-processing of the image failed. If this is a photo or a large image, please scale it down to 2500 pixels and upload it again.
I am in WordPress 5.5.1 and the image is very small. If I deactivate wp mail smtp plugin the picture uploads just fine.
There are no errors in the log.
Can you help me?

The plugin Events Manager by Marcus Sykes does not work properly when WP Mail SMTP is activated. I tested with only Events Manager, Events Manger Pro and WP Mail SMTP activated. This has worked for years, but not after an update to 2.3.1.
Booking an event makes no feedback to the user and mail is not sent, but the booking is registered.

After cloning my site, the administrative area that originally had a button to Authenticate with Google Analytics is now missing. I filled in the tracking Id and nothing is coming over, probably because it’s not authenticated.

woocommerce does not send emails, I have even added the sendinblue plugin for woocommerce but without success. other plugins if you send the emails without problems.
This problem only occurs with woocommerce? is there any way to fix it or i have to configure something in sendinblue.

Im trying to clean up the admin-menus for lower-level admins on our website and your plugin seems to be the only one Im having trouble removing.
Also, from your code I cant figure out what the top level admin-menus slug is.
So, please give me a remove_menu_page() function call that will remove your plugins entry in the admin menu.

Hi, i just installed and configured this plugin and the test emails i send to my hotmail and gmail accounts go directly to spam.
The email provider is: Office 365
My settings are:

For some reason the mail test fails if option is set to TLS (port 587), but works fine with option SSL (port 465) – all other settings are the same including authentication credentials. Also TLS connection on port 587 is working fine when using some other mail clients, i.e. Thunderbird, etc.
I can continue using SSL at port 465, but I would prefer to use TLS at 587 and I am at a loss how it can be fixed – probably there is some simple way to fix it, please advise.

Hi!
After updating WP to 5.5.1 and wp mail smtp plugin, its not possible for me to send messages over the contact 7 form.
Also email tests in wp mail smtp are not possible to do.

When I get to the OAuth page and select the user, instead of getting ‘connected’ I get a
403
Forbidden
Access to this resource on the server is denied!
message instead of a connection to gmail smtp. I’ve tried to redo the setup several times and get stuck on this step.
Every thing LOOKS right as near as I can tell.
