connection refused (111) when trying to use own mailserver

So I have my own mailserver and everything works as it should. I have my mailaccounts set up, can send and receive mails with outlook or any other email program and I was able to send mails through wordpress and WP Mail. Yesterday I saw that sending mails stopped 1 month ago, even though I didn’t temper with any settings. I tried re-establishing the connection and checked the settings but I can not find anything suspicious. When sending the testmail I just receive the message that the Mail couldn’t be sent because the smtp-server refused the connection (111).

So it worked 1 month ago and stopped.. I have setup SSL (465) and TLS (587) for my server and do not see anything regarding erros in my mail.log. Anybody can help?

I tried reading through the phpmailer troubleshoot guide.. but the error (111) was not listed.

Anyone has an idea on how to solve this?

Hi

Setup of wp-mail-smtp goes well with everything as per the guide as it should be. I get the ‘wants to access your account’ page and I click continue. Then I get redirected back to … the settings for Total Upkeep Backup. Navigating on my WP control panel back to wpmailsmtp and nothing’s happened … I still get the ‘Please first authorise the Gmail mailer below’ in the from email field and am unable to send a test email. No error messages … nothing.

Very confused!

Mail delivery failed with Yahoo addresses??

Hi,

I have a fairly new WP/WooCommerce store and I have WP Mail SMTP installed.

I seem to be getting a ‘Mail delivery failed’ message back to my inbox every time it attempts to send a mail to a customer with a Yahoo/AOL account… It’s happened with two customers now. Gmail, Hotmail etc. seems to be fine.

Getting DMARC emails after adding it to my A Record

So I was trying to fully set this plugin up and DMARC seemed to be a step I was missing.

So I found the walk-thru and successfully added the DMARC record to my A Records.

But now these last few weeks I have been getting an email every few days in regards to DMARC Support.

Asking about a review inside WooCommerce interfaces

Just an opinion.
I think that requesting a review of the plugin inside the interface of WooCommerce looks a bit ugly (visually).
Maybe, it would be better to show this request on a restricted set of pages in wp-admin where the visual result will be more predictable (Dashboard, default ‘Settings” pages, etc.). Own pages of the plugin also fit, btw.

Test mail is sending, but Order Emails not after woocommerce update

Today I my emails stopped sending from the woocommerce order emails to OUR customers are okay, but new order notification emails are not reaching us.

SMTP SMTP data not accepted error

But our provider sees no error at all.

Firstly, thanks for creating such a reliable plugin – the Lite version has always worked for me across different sites and setups.

I have a WooCommerce-based subscription website which generates a lot of scheduled actions (sub renewals etc) in the Action Scheduler.

The load on the server can get quite high, so I’m looking at optimising as much as possible by removing unnecessary tasks.

I notice in the scheduled actions a lot of instances of the following hook:

wp_mail_smtp_admin_notifications_update

At times it runs about three or four times in a five minute window, other times it’s every few hours.

Im guessing from the name it’s querying something to generate a quick report or send a notification to admin users? As I get full logging from the SMTP provider (Send In Blue), I don’t have any need for the dashboard widget, so I turn this off in settings.

Is the hook mentioned above to do with the dashboard widget, or something else?

If it is, it shouldn’t be firing if the widget is not enabled.

If it’s something else, can you please explain:

A) what it actually is doing
B) if it’s safe to disable
C) how to disable it

Trying to get woocommerce email add_filter to work.
Doesn’t seem to work with WP Mail SMTP. How can I fix this?

Getting this error i am also using wordfence , just switch basic firewall to learning mode but still unable to receive mails

restore plugin settings

I deactivated this plugin while troubleshooting. Upon reactivation, license key is lost. I restored the plugin from backups with no improvement.
Is the license key anywhere within files?

I select other SMTP from my web host provider Dreamhost. Host and value on DNS are correctly inputted. Why the warning still persists?

No order emails are coming through from the website. I have been through and reconfigured the plugin but nothing is working. What can be done to fix this as we have multiple orders per day and we are not being notified?

Unable to send out email

WP SMTP Mail not working with Wordfence

I manage over 20 sites (with WP Mail SMTP installed) on different hosting servers, at different large hosting companies. They all have timely updates, everything is under control. Since installing Wordfence, I’ve had the following issue:
every few days I find an error in the admin interface bar (see screenshot attached). I open the error and see that the error is coming from Wordfence (see the screenshot attached). I look in the “error event” and see the same message in the log (see the screenshot attached).
The idea is that this line is always displayed (/wp-content/plugins/wordfence/lib/wordfenceClass.php (line: 7161)). (see screenshot attached). Can you check what this is about?
I’ve searched the internet before and there are a lot of complaints about exactly the same issue.

Theme conflict

Hi,

I use WPForms + WP Mail SMTP

Can you see in the attached error message why this particular theme (Renovate theme) doesn’t accept the WP Mail SMTP settings? If i change to a WordPress Default theme it works.
