Hi,

I’ve configured the plugin with a gmail account. I do everything according to this guide:
https://wpmailsmtp.com/docs/how-to-set-up-the-gmail-mailer-in-wp-mail-smtp/
but at the last step when it sends the test email there’s an error:

invalid_client
Please make sure your Google Client ID and Secret in the plugin settings are valid. Save the settings and try the Authorization again.

I have the WordPress installation in a Raspberry pi 4 at home. Do I have to open any port in my router for the plugin to work?

Hi, we have been using your plugin since 2-3 years, works great except for one thing:

WooComerce Checkout is extremely slow

We do have a B2B member-only website, on average every order has around 100-150 products. The checkout takes about 30 to 90 seconds to get to the “Thank you page”.

When I disable the plugin the checkout gets super fast, only 8 seconds in average.

What can we do to improve the checkout page? We tried to delay woocommerce emails, no result unfortunately.

In the sender’s address it always puts the same address as the recipient. In other words, if I send an email from my account to account@gmail.com, account@gmail.com appears as the sender, and I already have the options to force the sender activated.

Hi, I just migrated my test site to the live site a few days ago. When I activate the plugin, the database error message shows in my website error log. After that, I tried to send the test email and the email was successfully delivered. However, this error message keeps adding to my error log file every minute, which causes my error log file to keep growing.

BTW, I have already tried to repair the table but it did not work.

Hi,
I have an error in my WP Mail SMTP plugin, wordfence seems to be blocking from sending emails.
Mailer: Other SMTP SMTP Error: Could not authenticate.
The source of the issue is pointing to this :
Wordfence Security
/var/app/current/wp-content/plugins/wordfence/lib/wordfenceClass.php (line: 7161)

I have checked the diagnostic results and also checked the error logs however I’m not seeing any logs related with SMTP. Please help.

The plugin broke the website at first making the frontend and backend inaccessible.
I disabled the plugin, and now when trying to enable it again I receive the following:

Hi,

i have my domain with WordPress.
i have a GMAIL Suite with wordpress, so that my email has my domain in it.

when i go into my gmail settings, to allow “less secure apps”. it says “This setting is managed by your domain administrator.”

i presume my administrator is WordPress.

so how do i get this setting changed, so that i can use my Gmail Suite on my bespoke software for sending emails?

I am using the “Other SMTP” option as my mailer and I am able to send and receive test emails to my Gmail account but when WordPress sends an automated email to the same Gmail account, like when a plugin is updated, it goes to spam.

All other emails sent from the website using the SMTP Username, like Gravity Forms, are delivered.

I’ve got the plugin set-up on two separate sites on the same hosting account. Both are WordPress and both are using Contact Form 7 forms. They’re set-up identically too, but one of the sites is returning the generic error:

SMTP Error: Data not accepted

I did a search for this, but couldn’t find any results anywhere.

Any idea what this could be?

Hi,
is using the ‘Other SMTP’ option in WP Mail SMTP better for mail deliverability than ‘None’?
My client does not want to connect their domain with any external mailer. In this case, is there any benefit in using WP Mail SMTP with the ‘Other SMTP’ option (and using SMTP settings from their Internet provider) or this is just the same as the default mail functions of WordPress?
I see that letters from their website are marked as spam very often…

Hi,

I am trying to setup WP mail SMTP for my wordpress theme. I am using gmail SMTP service. I am running my application on a local server using Local. After making the SMTP setup I received the successful setup completion message : ‘You have successfully linked the current site with your Google API project. Now you can start sending emails through Gmail.’. However when I am trying to send a test email, I can see the ‘Send Email’ button as disabled showing following message: ‘You cannot send an email. Mailer is not properly configured. Please check your settings.’

Below is the message displayed at the top.

I also tried to disable SSL verification using following script as per this github link https://gist.github.com/slaFFik/c1d7d4249f47da7195fb973109952090 but that also did not work.

Is there a Custom Capability role permission to grant access to WP SMTP Mail without using manage_options ?

manage_options grants too much and I don’t want the role to be able to change custom fields and custom post types which is also in the same realm.

I personally check through mxtoolbox.com and it works – there is no blockade
I can also connect to an e-mail client from any network
