I have configured Gmail Client ID and Client Secret in plugin settings. But when I click “Allow plugin to send emails using your Google account”, it gives me Error: invalid_request. Missing required parameter: client_id.
Screenshot

I have checked and verified there is not extra space or something. Copied both Client ID and Client Secret many times but no luck.
This error only occurs with PHP version 7.2. With PHP 5.6 this error does not appear.

Hi,

When I try to change the From Name value in the plugin options it is just ignored, and the test emails are sent to me with the “Root User” name (and a valid email). I’ve tried setting it on the settings page, in wp-config or just leave blank – all of those options still lead to it being set to “Root User”.

Hello!
I did update the PHP Version of my server to 5.6.36 (because it was marked as obsolete), but when I send a test email using WP Mail SMTP plugin I receive an error. There’s nothing listed on the SMTP Debug section, what I have to do?

The error is:

This is the error returned from the email test. What sticks out is Host: localhost is not how it’s set, which is to smtp.gmail.com. Also port 587 is set to be used instead of Port 25. It’s as if the information entered in Settings doesn’t get read and defaults are used instead. I have used the entered (not shown) Host and Port settings in one other plugin where they worked fine!

Using SMTP other

Good Day All

I am using the smtp other and I am able to send emails. The issue is as follows. When using smtp other there is a recommendation at the bottom of the admin section of the plugin that says.

” The password is stored in plain text. We highly recommend you setup your password in your WordPress configuration file for improved security; to do this add the lines below to your wp-config.php file. ”

define( ‘WPMS_ON’, true );
define( ‘WPMS_SMTP_PASS’, ‘your_password’ );

When I add that to the config file the password dots become greyed which I am guessing is correct but once I do that I can’t send emails. Looking at the logs my password is not accepted. Any help would be appreciated

Hi,

Recently, the email functionality of our site stopped working. We have been using WP Mail SMTP since the beginning. We are emailing through office 365 outlook. None of the other similar threads I could find gave a solution.

The only thing I can think is that we recently changed the administrator credentials for the WP dashboard, but as far as I know we did not change the credentials for the email account we’re using to send emails. Let me know where I can go to address this.

Below is the code when I do the test email:

I’ve sent a test email and got the error below. Now from the wording it would suggest that the system is sending too many emails to one email address but the test email address is completely new so that can’t be the issue. The other issue I thought is that the system has sent too many emails for Outlook’s liking but the system shouldn’t have sent any emails since Tuesday so not sure why the error would still be coming up.

SMTP protocol isn’t really my area hence we’re using the plugin, any insight into what I’m missing here I would be very grateful for. Thank you.

Only apply SMTP to Woocommerce/Problems after deactivation

1. Is it possible to make the SMTP plug-in only apply to the Woocommerce emails?

I’m using the plug-in for a client of mine to make Woocommerce emails work and be sent out. For this we’ve made a seperate email. This works, but the SMTP plug-in makes it the default sender not only for Woocommerce but everything on their page. E.g. when someone signs up for their newsletter, which has nothing to do with Woocommerce, they receive the sign-up information, but the sender is the Woocommerce email. This should be their standard info mail.

2. My clients pre-existing mail configuration also worked prior to installing the plug-in (just not for Woocommerce). But when deactivating the WP Mail SMTP plug-in it doesn’t work. Is it necessary to completely remove the plug-in from WordPress?

After the SSL was setup, the mailer went wrong. I found our I still should have installed another certificate which I made with the help of this tutorial:

But I still have the same error. I would be glad if you could help me out with the correct step… we have no cpanel only webmin.
