Prevent admin email notification

The plugin is working wonderfully/reliably since integrating it with our business GSuite/Gmail address. But there is a nuisance “feature” that we did not expect:
(Forgive us if we’re mistaken and have misdiagnosed the plugin as the cause.)
The associated email with the WP Mail SMTP plugin receives every email that is sent from our website. Prior to using the plugin, this was not occurring. This becomes very overwhelming when site visitors utilize our “evites” and when registering for events. We are getting a copy of every email that goes out from our site delivered to our inbox. Please tell us there is a way to override this. We don’t want to prevent any emails from being sent…we just don’t need the emails that are meant for us. Please advise!

Hi! first of all I have to say that I’m the owner of the domain and the server, so the “ask your hosting” solution isn’t pretty useful hahaha
I’m getting this error while sending a test message from an email created in cpanel

Password remains in database

Hey,
just set up your plugin and actually entered the SMTP credentials into the plugin for testing purposes. Afterwards I added the constants to wp-config.php.

After that the password field is read-only. I would have guessed that adding said constants would delete the password from the database. But I checked and the password was still stored there in plain text. You might want to look into that or at least notify users of this 🙂

For the record, I also tried to comment out the additions to wp-config.php, reload the settings page, cleared username and password, saved that and the uncommented the constants. The password still remained in the database.

Best regards

Hello,
I am having a problem with lost password in woocommerce , it doesn’t recognize your smtp setup although the setup is working , i checked the test mail and it works and i also can see it does send emails with the contact form and woocommerce orders , so i am not sure why the lost password doesn’t work , when i used the default wordpress password it told me , the following error:
The email could not be sent. Possible reason: your host may have disabled the mail() function.
so is there something that i can do , to force the default lost password for wordpress to use your plugin, it works with everything else not sure why this one doesn’t work?

So many plugins now days put their icon out on the top level menu. On large websites this clutters up the left bar so much. Can we have an option to put it back? Once you set it once, you hardly ever go back in the WP Mail settings, so i think it is un-necessary to have moved it out… More clutter, please lets have the option

Hello, I’m using the GMail integration (GMail Suite – not personal) with the free plugin, and am now getting the following error from the plugin:

EMAIL DELIVERY ERROR: the plugin WP Mail SMTP v1.5.0 logged this error during the last time it tried to send an email:

Mailer: Gmail
{
"error": {
"errors": [
{
"domain": "global",
"reason": "required",
"message": "Login Required",
"locationType": "header",
"location": "Authorization"
}
],
"code": 401,
"message": "Login Required"
}
}
Consider running an email test after fixing it.

Here’s how I have things configured on the GMail API side:
domain is: mydomain.com and the actual WP instance (URL and Return path) is sub.mydomain.com.

It all worked before. Also, I cannot send a test email, as it states “You cannot send an email. Mailer is not properly configured. Please check your settings.”

User Registration – Getting two admin emails and no registrant email

Hi,

I’m seeing odd behavior from the WP Mail SMTP Plugin. This behavior only occurs for new user registration emails.

When a new user registers the admin gets two duplicate notices about the registration, but the new user does not receive the registration email.

Here’s the odd part. I installed an email logging plugin after I started seeing this problem and the logger shows one email sent to the admin and one email sent to the new user. If I resend the registration email to the user via the logger that succeeds.

The WP Mail SMTP function to send a test email succeeds for the new user email (the test email arrives successfully).

I disabled the WP Mail SMTP plugin in favor of the Post SMTP plugin and the problem does not occur with the Post SMTP plugin. That fixes my immediate problem, but since I’m using WPForms it would be nice to use a WPForms mail plugin for compatibility and consistency.

I’m using Mailgun.

Top Level?

Why? you already run the largest (and maybe the best) 3rd party emailer in the WP atmosphere with “over 1,000,000 trusted users.” Why do you feel the need to all of a sudden put the plugin into the main menu root? This is a set it and forget it plugin, there is NO reason it has to be staring everyone in the face all of the time. I’d like to know the reason.

I don’t think I’m the only one that frowns upon this tactic? I despise set it and forget it plugins that feel they’re so important to be in the top level root menu, especially when they’re already #1. (Yes, I know there are hacks, band aid fixes and plugins that allow me to re-arrange and customize the admin menu)

Request Entity Too Large Error 413

I’m getting an error when sending via Gmail.

Request Entity Too Large
Error 413

It’s from a form where the user uploaded images. The images uploaded fine to the server and the total of one is 13MB and one is 18MB … from what I’ve read, that’s under Gmail’s limit.

I disabled the plugin and the notifications sent fine.

Any ideas how I can fix this?

Duplicate admin emails and no user email (Works 1.4.2 / Broken 1.5.0

Hi Guys

Since 1.5.0 the default Gravity form admin and user email hooks which are fired is resulting in two admin emails and no user email being sent.

Reverting to 1.4.2 fixes the issue.

Think some hooks in the new version causing the issue. Perhaps duplicate entries for admin email and not user email (cut and paste issue I guess).

Please check this out.

Thanks
🙂
