ISSUE EMAIL TEST ON GMAIL MAILER

Hello, I have problem setting up SMTP google on my WP Mail SMTP using Google Mailer and Other SMTP (Posted Separately).
I followed the documentation provided here https://wpmailsmtp.com/docs/how-to-set-up-the-other-smtp-mailer-in-wp-mail-smtp/
and successfully got this message “You have successfully linked the current site with your Google API project. Now you can start sending emails through Gmail.”

I believe the setting I set is right. Did I miss something here?

Client ID : <correctly Filled>
Client Secret : <correctly Filled>
Authorization : <Connected to my gmail account>

Our new SMTP service uses custom headers to authenticate. How do we use those with your plugin. We were using postsmtp but it no longer works.

Need to add

Can’t change “from” email

We are sending using Office 365, using the “other SMTP” option. We have created a dedicated email account to use for authenticating to and sending via SMTP (“connector@mycompany.com”).

When we send a test email using the plugin’s “Test” tab, the test email always shows the “From” as “info@mycompany.com” (which is the main admin email for the site). And the test fails. We do authenticate successfully, but it looks like the “from” email being different is causing it to fail.

I have set the “from” email in the first tab, and tried checking the box to force it, but it still comes through as “info@”. Is there some other step we should take to get this forced “from” email to work?

Hi, plugin works very fine in the main site http://www.mydomain.
I set up the wp-config lines and the admin part is deactivated.
in the other subdomains I have error :

EMAIL DELIVERY ERROR when pressing allow plugin to send emails button

I am going to try and make this quick. A little bit ago the password was changed on Gmail account attached to this contact form. This created an issue with the API associated with the email address when the password was reset. I went back in, made sure all was right and verified Client and Secret was in place. When I tried to send the test email with the “Allow plugin to send emails” button, it goes through the process all the way to the end. When I accept, it tries to pass me back through to the site and instead sends me back to the log-in page. I enter log-in credentials, it takes me to the login page, all text, with a .php extension (like I did not just log-in). When I log in there, I get a big red error across site:

I have checked all items on Gmail developer console, uninstalled, wiped cache, wiped cookies, reinstalled, and second I turn it on I get error above. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Emails not being sent from Contact form

Hello, I am having issues with my contact form. Info put into the contact form isn’t arriving to my email box. I am using the Google mailer option and have been getting the test emails but nothing from the forms. Also, after the form is submitted, there is no confirmation or error message. I am a beginner with WordPress and would appreciate any help!

Mail Deamon Delivery Failure

Hi great team,

Everything is working fine for us but we facing an issue with the amazon smtp where the bounce rate is getting high because some of our woocommerce customers write their email wrong.

So we got a mail delivery deamon failure notification to the from email we defined.

This cause an issue for us for making the bounce rate get high in the amazon aws dashboard which will lead to ban out account how can we limit this bounce rate from being increased when someone writes his email wrong.

We found an option that we are not using it in the settings is it useful in this situation?:

Set the return-path to match the From Email
Return Path indicates where non-delivery receipts – or bounce messages – are to be sent.
If unchecked, bounce messages may be lost. Some providers may ignore this option.

Test msg works, CF7 error suggests spam

Our email was fine until SiteGround moved our sites to a new server.
So I re-installed WP Mail SMTP, created new client ID and secret in Google, followed the steps and sent a successful test email.

But when I try our contact form, I get “There was an error trying to send your message. Please try again later.” in a box with an orange border.

The Contact Form 7 author suggests this color border indicates a problem with spam. Maybe he means CF7 suspected it was spam?

My manager wants this fixed ASAP – Urgent. We’re blocking incoming business.

I set up the WP form SMTP through g suite.
it works great.

However, the “from email” is greyed.
my Email address is written, but I would like that it is sent from another email address.

Can you help me fix this?

Cloudflare settings

Hello! I just wanted to make sure I have my cloudflare settings correct. The plugin is not currently working.

It worked great before cloudflare. So in cloudflare I have an MX record that has the root name as the name and is pointing to a mailer.domain.com mail server. There is also an A record that points the mailer.domain.com cname to the site’s regular IP address.

In the SMTP plugin I’ve set the smtp host to mailer.domain.com and have the same ssl port and username as before.

It’s not sending any test emails and PHP email is working fine. What do you think I’ve done wrong?

We are using wp mail smtp plugin for our website. We are facing issue with getting emails in spam folder. We added DKIM and DMARC record also in DNS. So when we contacted gsuite support team, they told us to get email server or Static IP address of mail smtp plugin. Can you please provide the same.

Email About Sex in UK Sent Within 2 Hours of update to v1.8.1

Within 2 hours of updating the WP Mail plugin to v1.8.1 an email was sent from the plugin advertising sex in the UK with a link that I’m sure is malicious. What is going on with the update that someone was able to exploit it almost instantly?

This site is a new site still in dev but accessible to the world and there has been almost no activity on it for several weeks, I just logged in again for the first time yesterday and today I installed the plugin update and right away start getting this junk email. I’ve never had a problem with emails getting sent from the plugin prior to updating it today.

Here is the email content as gmail shows it…(I’ve removed our email address that was listed as the From: address)

Can’t update user password

Hi,

Users are unable to update their passwords in the standard WP user edit and i’ve tracked it back to this plugin. The page just keeps loading when they click submit after generating a new password. Deactivating all plugins and enabling this one produce the error.

Sendinblue not working correctly

Hello, if we use your plugin and connect via sendinblue, it seems to be working fine but it is not. Emails to activate new accounts are not being sent to the users.

If I switch directly to sendinblue plugin, it is working fine. Not with yours. I know that sendinblue is using api v2, you use v3, maybe that’s the problem?

We would like to use your plugin because we can force the email address (from) etc. That is not possible with their plugin.

Can you check it and fix it please?

Verizon SMTP

Hi I’m trying to setup a Verizon SMTP and I’ve followed the steps. In the settings I select Other Mailer, enter the host smtp.verizon.net use ssl port 465 enter the full email for user id and the password. I’ve logged into the account to verify this is correct. However, whenever I do an email test it comes back as cannot authenticate. Not sure what else I could be missing as this is pretty straightforward. Can anyone assist or come across this before?

We are getting error at top of every screen in admin backend

Can’t connect to SMTP after PHP update

Hi,
the php on the server was updated to 5.6.25 (OK, I know this is outdated too but that’s not the problem I’m having). Mailing worked fine before the update. After the update, I get the “Could not connect to the SMTP host.” message). As this is clearly related to the update of PHP and my provider is not able to find a solution, I would need some guidance, what in the php settings could be set wrong. I am using my own SMTP server but PHP mailing doesn’t work either.
