Suddenly this happened:
I do not use Woocommerce plugin or theme.

WordPress version 5.4.2
Current plugin: WP Mail SMTP (version 2.2.1)
PHP version 7.2.32

Tables use InnoDB and check shows OK. Any ideas what could cause this?

After updating the plugin, the following error is received. Any idea what this might be caused by?

ACTION SCHEDULER ERROR

Just thought id post here to help those with how i fixed this issue.

I had a woothemes updater plugin folder (not using woocommerce) but think its been left over from a long time ago.

This was causing some kind of conflict. deleted the folder and plugin updated without issue.

smtp log in failure siteground staging

Hello: I have tried to configure this product for most of the day now without success. Environment: WP 5.5, Host siteground, elementor on a staging version of my production site. I have set up a gmail account. I tried to use gmail and other smtp and still get authentication errors. I can log into my gmail account no issues. I have set allow less secure application (hours ago). Authentication fails. I deleted the plugin and tried another same types of errors with authentication. I would upgrade to the paid version but I cannot even get the free one working.

Plugin cant connect to SMTP after install WP 5.5

Hello!

I have the 2.2.1 (free) version of the plugin, after updating to WordPress 5.5 the plugin stopped working, that is, not a single letter is sent.

Obviously some kind of compatibility issue, as many have already spoken out about the problem issue.

Cannot configure SMTP with office365 on a particular host

So unfortunately we cannot seem to resolve the issue and thought maybe you might have some ideas about it.

The plugin works and can be configured on the test server http://3.11.64.150 (hosted on AWS)

The plugin is not working on cosmeticsurgery-partners.org (hosted with another server)

The website developer believes it’s something to do with hosting, can you double check if there is anything else we can try?

We are using office365 SMTP non-paid option

PS error message =
EMAIL DELIVERY ERROR: the plugin WP Mail SMTP v2.2.1 logged this error during the last time it tried to send an email:

Please review your WP Mail SMTP settings in plugin admin area. Consider running an email test after fixing it.

We are receiving this error on our site using this plugin when trying to send any emails:

Fatal error: Cannot declare class PHPMailer\PHPMailer\SMTP, because the name is already in use in (redacted)/wp-includes/PHPMailer/SMTP.php on line 30

FATAL Error After updating to WP 5.5

Hello, after updating to the latest version of wordpress 5.5 i get an fatal error whenever i send an email from the website. This could be when a customer makes a booking or simply when doing the test-email from the wp mail smtp plugin page.

Here is a picture of the functions line which the error references

I have downgraded WordPress and now it works fine, so it has something to do with the new WordPress version.

change in address on emails

The emails that are sent from my blog through your plugin have my name@blogname and suddenly, they are arriving with wordpress@blogname.

Is this a problem and how can I correct it. I updated to WP 5.5 earlier in the week and everything has been going well until now.

Problem with sendgrid

Hi

I had to add the following code to src/Providers/Sendgrid/Mailer.php set_from function to be able to use it.

       if(empty($email)){
           $email= $this->options->get("mail","from_email");
        }

The From field seem to not be populated accordingly to sendgrid API needs.

Hi

The WP SMTP had stopped working , but I never received an error notification by email. This makes sense if these are sent using the WP SMTP that’s not working 🙂 I was wondering if there’s a way to receive email delivery error notifications to email in these situations?

Hello,
For a couple of weeks I have several errors messages in the dashboard when I do action on WooCommmerce (sending delivery infos, new order on site, etc.), but the test e-mail is always working fine.

Here is a sample of the errors I have :

ERREUR D’ENVOI D’E-MAIL : L’extension WP Mail SMTP v2.2.1 a enregistré cette erreur lors de sa dernière tentative d’envoi :

Mailer: Autre SMTP
SMTP Error: Could not authenticate.

Please review your WP Mail SMTP settings in plugin admin area. Envisagez d’envoyer un e-mail de test après la résolution.

But I also have had other messages, but I diddn’t remember which one.

Until today it seems that errors where not really a problem as e-mails was delivered, but now e-mails are not delivered so that is a real big problem for me.

Mail has stopped sending (Zoho mail)

Hi there,

My WP Forms Pro plugin has been successfully sending emails usind Zoho mail, and WP SMTP Lite plugin.

For some reason the mails have now stopped sending.
I have just updated to WP 5.5, and also updated my theme
(https://themetrust.com/wordpress-themes/create/).

My SMTP creds are all correct and checked as per these instructions:
(https://www.saleshandy.com/smtp/zoho-smtp-settings/)
Server Address: smtp.zoho.com
Username: Your Zoho Mail address (e.g. whatever comes before @aol.com)
Password: Your ZOHO Mail password
Alternatice Port Number: 465 (With SSL/TLS)
Authentication: Required

I have turned off ‘auto TLS’ in case this is causing an issue.

Can you think of any reason why it would have stopped working?

Can We Disable Action Scheduler? (Impact)

We have learned that your database table(s) — “wp_actionscheduler_*” — are now required for your plugin to work correctly. We have also learned that they are required to support WooCommerce sites.

Since we do not have a WooCommerce site, what would happen if we disable the wp_actionscheduler crons associated with your database tables? Will we still receive emails? What would fail or not function properly?

Allow Plugin to Send Emails causes 403 error on WP5.5

After configuring the plugin and setting up the Google API, all goes well until I press the “Allow plugin to send emails using your google account” button, select my Google account and then press access “Allow” button from the Wants to access your email account window.

After pressing it, I get a generic 403 forbidden error.

If I ignore it and try to send a test email I get the message:

You cannot send an email. Mailer is not properly configured. Please check your settings.

My Client ID and secret text fields do not contain any empty spaces.

I am using Woocommerce 4,4,1, WP 5.5, and SMTP mail 2.2.1

How do I hide/remove the new admin bar menu. There is already a standard WP Mail SMTP settings menu. I don’t need to see an admin bar menu too.
