Hi team, I just updated the WP MAIL SMTP plugin from v1.9.0 to v2.3.1 and the site crashed.

The error was:

An error of type E_COMPILE_ERROR was caused in line 19 of the file
/var/www/vhosts/riverdalevillage.attractor.solutions/httpdocs/wp-content/plugins/wp-mail-smtp/vendor/woocommerce/action-scheduler/classes/migration/Controller.php.
Error message: Cannot declare class
Action_Scheduler\Migration\Controller, because the name is already in
use

I commented the plugin name in the file directory and site came up. Then I rolled back the plugin update back to v1.9.0.

WordPress version: v5.5
PHP version: 7.2.33

Thank You.

I received the following message within wordpress after noticing that emails are not being sent:

EMAIL DELIVERY ERROR: the plugin WP Mail SMTP v2.3.1 logged this error during the last time it tried to send an email:

Mailer: Gmail
{
“error”: “invalid_grant”,
“error_description”: “Bad Request”
}
Please re-grant Google app permissions!
Go to WP Mail SMTP plugin settings page. Click the “Remove Connection” button.
Then click the “Allow plugin to send emails using your Google account” button and re-enable access.
Consider running an email test after fixing it.

After carefully following the long-winded steps in the Gmail documentation you provided and disconnecting and reconnecting my gmail account, the error message message has disappeared, however no emails are being sent..

Mails get delivered after 5 minutes

I am facing a really wired situation right now.
I have used WP Mail SMTP on other websites and never had a problem. Right now I am creating a new website and I connected a gmail SMTP to the plugin, I made sure to copy every key and give all the needed authorizations.
Now to the problem:
when I send a test email NOT in HTML mode it arrives immediately but when I send it in HTML mode it takes always exactly 5 hole minutes to arrive. This is a really big problem for me especially considering the fact that if an user tries to create an account on the website he has to wait 5 minutes for the confirmation email to be delivered. I am sure it is not an issue related to my internet connection. I can’t really figure out what I am doing wrong or if I am actually doing something wrong because I have done the configuration process many times on other website as I said before.
Basically I need a way to make the delivery of the emails almost instantaneous as always has been with this plugin.
I also want to point out that also my hosting provider should not be the problem because is the same I used in the past.
If you need more explanations or any other piece of information please let me know.
Thank you very much, hopefully someone can help me 🙂

Hello,

Does anyone know if it’s possible to change the ‘from’ address for the weekly email summaries? At the moment it comes from the admin’s email address and I need it to come from a different one. If I install the WP SMTP plugin would that override it maybe?

When I sign into our WordPress dashboard, I see the following error displayed:

EMAIL DELIVERY ERROR: the plugin WP Mail SMTP v2.2.1 logged this error during the last time it tried to send an email: Mailer: Other SMTP
You must provide at least one recipient email address.
Please review your WP Mail SMTP settings in plugin admin area. Consider running an email test after fixing it.

I am able to send the test email with no errors.

I’d like your help to figure out where this error message is being generated. We are running WordPress 5.4.2 and PHP 7.3. We have the Updraft Plus plugin installed. We also have the Contact Form 7 plugin installed.

Let me know if you need any additional information. Thanks in advance for your help with this.

cURL error 60 with www.googleapis.com

I am curious as to why I very often get the following error message:

cURL error 60: SSL: no alternative certificate subject name matches target host name ‘www.googleapis.com’

I have seen it pop up across multiple sites over the past 6 months. It’s frustrating, because we don’t know about it unless we are actively logging in and looking for it. Doing an email test send sometimes clears it up, but we have had to reset the API connection with Google a couple of times to fix it.

We have quality hosting with excellent support on a VPS and we spent over an hour with them scouring all of the settings on our end, and everything was in order server side. So then I spent over an hour on the phone with Google GSuite support, who weren’t able to help me. They say it’s a server (it’s not) or plugin issues. Could you offer any insight as the why this seems to crop up on sites every month or so?

wp_mail() Not Working

Hi,
I recently have installed “Ultimate Affiliate Pro” WordPress plugin and after testing the notification options I found that it doesn’t work. I have contacted the developer of the plugin and he said that:

” Our plugin use wp_mail() function, basically sends data to wp_mail() and WP taking care further how that mail is sent.
WP Mail SMTP, based on our knowledge, may change/customize how wp_mail() works. Still, depends of that script setup, not on our plugin.
We saw WP Mail SMTP being used very often, on the same website where Ultimate Affiliate Pro plugin is running, without any problem. So, mostly for sure can be used together with WP Mail SMTP plugins, but all depends of how this one have been setup. ”

In my website “WP Mail SMTP” plugin is set with Mailgun and it is working properly, except that particular “Ultimate Affiliate Pro” plugin.
The developer says that their plugin is using the default wp_mail() function, which your WP Mail SMTP plugin probably have overwritten.

So can you help me fix this? What to do to make this functionality “wp_mail()” work for that “Ultimate Affiliate Pro” plugin?

…. just to mention that I don’t know scripts coding and etc.

Critical Error

Dear sir/madam,

Since the last update, I get critical errors when trying to send e-mails via WP Mail SMTP.

I use the most recent version of WordPress and WooCommerce. PHP Version 7.4. WP Mail SMTP is configured with Sendinblue.

I tried the Action Scheduler plugin and WP-DBManager as suggested in https://wordpress.org/support/topic/there-has-been-a-critical-error-on-your-website-65/, this didn’t work.

I set up WordPress Error Logs in WP-Config as per https://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-tutorials/how-to-set-up-wordpress-error-logs-in-wp-config/. However, no debug.log file appears in my wp-content folder.

The following error displays when I am trying to send a test e-mail using WP Mail SMTP:

Deprecated: class-phpmailer.php has been deprecated since version 5.5.0. Instead, use wp-includes / PHPMailer / PHPMailer.php. The PHPMailer class has been moved to wp-includes / PHPMailer subdirectory and now uses the PHPMailer \ PHPMailer namespace. in /mysite.com/public_html/wp-includes/functions.php on line 4963

I don’t have enough knowledge of PHP, how can I resolve these errors?

Thank you in advance for your help!

No request found for this application

After clicking the authorization button and authenticating with Google OAuth, I am returned to the WP setup page for the plug-in but I see the message “No request found for this application” on a blank screen.

The URL looks good – it’s the authorized redirect URI + code and scope parameters – so it looks like I’m authenticated, but I don’t see a way to continue the setup.

Thanks in advance,
